Report of Employment Training Camp
The Employment Training Camp at Tendo Hotel, Tendo City was held on February 25 and 26, 2018. Twelve international students who participated in this program attended this event. The students were from Yamagata University, Yonezawa and Kojirakawa Campus, and from Tohoku University of Community Service and Science.
The aim of this event was to facilitate the participation of international students in the Job Fair for International Students in Yamagata which held on March 9, 2018. In this training camp, the students obtained useful information for job hunting such as an overview of job hunting, information regarding companies within Yamagata Prefecture, how to write resume, and practiced an interview. It seemed that international students experienced the real of employment in Japan. During the round-table talks between foreign students which held after dinner on the first day, the students share the difficulties in job hunting that they currently facing up, furthermore they also opened up their hopes and worries. It was a good moment that they could share their thoughts. On the second day, there was a simulation of an interview. One group of student, consisted of 3 persons, practiced interview. The manner when entering the interview room, attitude while answering question from interviewer, and the content of the answer were the important points to be checked up. Other students gave their feedback on good and improvement points about the performance of interviewed students. Students showed enthusiasm in learning employment in Japan.
We will continue to support employment of international students through this program.
